Coronavirus Covid-19

Latest Update Coronavirus Covid-19 In these challenging times, I wanted to update and inform you about actions the golf club are taking in light of the COVID-19 crisis. The situation and guidance advice is changing on a daily basis and we continue to ask all members & visitors alike to follow Government guidelines.

Yesterday, golf’s three professional governing bodies have issued further advice to golfers and the operators for golf clubs as a game to be enjoyed “sensibly and safely” during the Coronavirus outbreak. The Government has continued its advice that exercise in the fresh air away from human contact should be continued, even for those in self-isolation.

In the weeks and months ahead the physical and emotional well-being of everyone will become an increasingly important issue and I firmly believe that golf can play an important outlet for exercise, fresh air and competitive stimulation. There may need to be a few temporary tweaks to the rules to ensure responsible adherence to social distancing and general health guidelines, but nothing that will detract from the numerous and undoubted benefits of participation. Furthermore, it is fully possible to deliver one on one coaching sessions whilst following all health guidelines. The PGA are currently discussing all of these possibilities with Government and Industry leaders and will do everything in their power to position golf participation as a safe, responsible and beneficial option to as many people as possible. Best wishes Mark Richecoeur Head PGA Professional
